Amplifier’s Jewish Giving Circle Incubator supports a group of stellar community builders as they start brand-new giving circles and act on their visions for making change in the world.

Each year, our Incubator empowers a cohort of individuals and professionals representing their organizations as they grow new giving circles from an idea into an exciting grantmaking community in eight months. Our cohorts carry out their diverse visions for giving circles; there are no restrictions on circles' minimum donation or giving level, or the issue areas on which the circle wishes to fund.

Our training experience includes:

An inspiring two-day retreat that will train participants in everything they need to get their giving circles off the ground, including sessions with leading field experts and a networking event with other giving circle rock stars

Energizing monthly calls with a personal, highly experienced Giving Circle Coach

Regular webinars that provide ongoing training and momentum

Exclusive access to custom-built giving circle management tools on Amplifier’s website

Access to microgrants to enrich the circle's experience

Because of the generous support of our funders, we are able to offer a subsidized program fee for participants selected for the Incubator. The program fees are:

  • Individuals

    Not affiliated with organizations

  • Professionals

  • “We explored giving circles as a way to inspire an entrepreneurial spirit in our community and engage donors. Nine months after the initial Incubator training, we successfully launched a giving circle and raised $80,000 to fund four innovative programs. This would not have happened without Amplifier.”

Danielle V. Minson, Chief Development Officer, Jewish Federation of Cincinnati

  • “The Amplifier Incubator provided important guidance for Jewish Family Service of San Diego to start our first giving circle. We saw a dramatic return on investment; with half the staff time, we raised 20% more funds, and engaged 8 new households. Amplifier’s resources were essential every step of the way.”

Ashley Harrington, Manager, Public Affairs & Young Adult Initiatives, JFS of San Diego

  • “Participating in the Incubator gave us a template to launch our giving circle. Having webinars, coaching, resources, and curriculum skeleton available made it easy to create a program that fit our community. We are thrilled with the success of our Giving Council.”

Sonia Marie Leikam, Collaborative Giving Coordinator, Oregon Jewish Community Foundation

  • “We both thought about starting a giving circle before, but it wasn't until connecting with Amplifier that we got the idea off the ground. The Incubator's in-person training helped us brainstorm the structure and process, and Amplifier's website allows us to easily request and compare information from grantees.”

Rachel Wainer Apter & Lauren Stark, Co-founders of the Tikkun giving circle

  • “Giving circles are a different way to connect with donors. They create an opportunity for people to view themselves as philanthropists, no matter how much they give. Support from Amplifier’s Incubator to create, facilitate, and implement a meaningful experience was key to our success.”

Julie Tepperman, Senior Director of Community Development, Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit
