We at Amplifier (collectively, "Amplifier," "We," "Our," or "Us") welcome you to Our website and related internet-based services and portals (collectively, the “Website”). We are strongly committed to protecting your privacy and helping you understand how We collect, use and safeguard the personal information collected though the Website.  This document (the “Privacy Policy”) describes the policies We have implemented with regards to collecting and using information about you.  By accessing or using any portion of the Website or any functionality or content contained therein, you are acknowledging that you have read, understand, accept this Privacy Policy, and you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by this Privacy Policy and the Website’s Terms and Conditions of Use (www.amplifiergiving.org/terms-of-use) (the “Terms of Use”). If you do not agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy, you may not use the Website.  Please do not use the Website unless you agree to the above. 

1.   Changes to this Privacy Policy.  Our Website and its content, and Our privacy practices, may change over time and, accordingly, We reserve the right, in Our sole discretion, to change, add or remove portions of this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason.  If We change this Privacy Policy, We will post the revised document here, and such changes will be effective immediately upon that posting. As We may make changes at any time without notifying you, you should periodically review this Privacy Policy when accessing or using the Website.  Each visit to the Website constitutes your agreement to be bound by and comply with the then-current Privacy Policy. If at any time you no longer agree to be bound by or comply with the Privacy Policy, then you should stop accessing and using the Website.

2.   Information We May Collect.  From time to time, subject to Our Terms of Use, you may provide Us with your personally identifiable information or other personal, financial, confidential, sensitive or other information (collectively, “Information”) when using the Website. We collect Information from Our users for several different purposes, including (but not limited to) in connection with the following (the “CGA and GC Purposes”):

a.     Processing of Common Grant Applications.  Processing of common grant applications ("CGA") requires the collection and use of sensitive data, personal, financial or otherwise, any and all information in the CGA will be shared freely, and available fully, to Amplifier and their respective partners and personnel.

b.    Common Grant Applications availability to Giving Circles. Any and all information in the CGA will be shared freely, and available fully, to any GC that is registered on the Amplifier web platform. By clicking the box that reads I understand that all the information that I provide in this common grant application will be viewable by any registered giving circle. In the common grant application, you acknowledge that any registered giving circle leader or member has access to the information in your common grant application.

When you provide Us with Information, you are giving your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Information (including your personally identifiable information) as set forth in this Privacy Policy.  Additionally, when you provide Us with Information you have also granted Us a license to the applicable Information under Our Terms of Use. If you would prefer that We not collect or use any personally identifiable information or other Information from you, please do not provide Us with any such Information. If you have previously provided Us with your personally identifiable information or other Information and would like to change your communication preferences or opt-out of certain of Our uses of your Information, please see Section 8 below.

3.   Cookies. We, or any organizations associated with Us, may also use “cookies” to track and gather certain information when you use the Website.  A cookie is a small text file that contains information and is either stored temporarily in your browser (a session cookie) or placed on your computer’s hard drive for a longer, predetermined length of time (a persistent cookie).  The cookie is then sent back to the Website on your subsequent visits.  The information gathered by these cookies is typically "non-personally identifiable" information like your IP address, operating system, browser type, and suspected geographic location that is anonymized and aggregated with data from other Website visitors. 

By accessing the Website you are giving your consent to Our, and any organizations associated with Us, use of cookies to track and gather information.  If you do not consent to the use of cookies, you must discontinue your use of the Website or configure your browser to reject cookies.

4.   How We Use and Share Information.  We use the Information you provide to deliver you the content and functionality of the Website, such as by responding to your inquiries, and without limitation in connection with the CGA and GC Purposes described above.  We may also use your Information to send you e-mails, mailings, surveys or other communications concerning the Website and Our initiatives.  Additionally, We may use your Information in connection with Our internal purposes such as generating statistics, or for any other purpose We deem necessary or desirable, such as to enhance your experience with the Website.

We may retain other companies and individuals as Our service providers to perform functions on Our behalf – for example, data analysis firms, customer support specialists, webhosting companies, telemarketing companies and fulfillment companies (e.g., companies that coordinate mailings). These third parties may be provided with access to personally identifiable information and other Information, or may collect Information about you and your use of the Website on their own.

5.   Certain Disclosures of Information.  We may disclose any Information, including personally identifiable information, We deem necessary, in Our sole discretion, to governmental authorities or private parties in order to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, investigation or governmental request. We may also disclose such Information where We believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or violations of Our policies or Terms of Use, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing the Website and applicable laws, or as otherwise required or permitted by law or consistent with legal requirements.  The foregoing is without limitation to other use and disclosures of Information that we may make in accordance with this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Use.

6.   Security.  We may implement various security measures to help protect your personal Information and reduce the risk of loss, misuse or alteration of the personal Information under Our control.  Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet and no information technology systems can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, including that such transmissions and systems may be subject to interception, eavesdropping, rerouting, hacking, unauthorized access or other breach. As a result, while We strive to protect your personal Information, We cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any Information you transmit to or from the Website, and you do so at your own risk.

7.   Retention.  We will retain your Information and other data submitted by you unless and until you ask to be removed from Our database. When you request to be removed from Our database, you will no longer receive e-mails from Us, but your Information will remain in Our database. If you would like your name and email address to be removed from Our database, please see Section 8 below. Please note that when any Information is removed from Our databases it may continue to exist in backup archives maintained by Us.  In addition, your Information may be retained by third parties.

8.   Updating Your Information and Opting Out.  If We send e-mail mailings and you no longer wish to receive them, you may do so at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the e-mail you receive from Us.  You may also remove your name from Our e-mail mailing lists by contacting Us at [email protected]

Please be advised that sometimes these requests may take time to process.  Unsubscribing from Our mailings may take 2-4 weeks to be effective.

9.   Links to Other Sites. You may find content on in the Website that links to websites of Our partners, sponsors or other third parties. Please be aware that We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other parties or their websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the information that We collect through the Website. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of other websites you link to from the Website or otherwise visit. TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AMPLIFIER HEREBY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY TYPE OF DAMAGES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, OR LOSSES OR EXPENSES, FOR THE ACTIONS AND CUSTOMER INFORMATION PRACTICES OF ANY OTHER WEBSITE TO WHICH THE WEBSITE LINKS OR REFERS.
