The BackyarD Fund was created by a group of couples in Detroit who want to make a difference locally through intentional and impactful philanthropy.
The BackyarD fund will award grants to programs and organizations in the Detroit area (metropolitan and city proper) that address basic needs, including but not limited to aging, disaster relief, disease, disorders, domestic abuse, health, housing and shelter, human services, crisis intervention, poverty and social services.
Preference will be given to organizations or projects:
All applications must be received by Monday, September 19th, 2016 at 9am EST.
The members of the BackyarD Fund will review all applications and notify finalists by September 30, 2016. Final decisions will be made by November 30, 2016.
Some grants require specific questions to be answered in order to make a decision. Every applicant will be required to answer the following questions in order to successfully complete the application process.
What is the amount you are requesting? Organizations may request funds between $5,000 and $25,000.
